The Story Behind aiready.sg

Why I built a platform that helps professionals and organisations become AI Ready — not AI experts.

A Personal Note

Walk The Talk

I spend a lot of time telling professionals and organisations they need to use AI. National programmes, keynotes, workshops, the AI-First Nation book — all of it pushing the same message: start using AI, now.

It would be hypocritical not to walk the talk.

aiready.sg — the website you’re on, the assessments, the course content, the community, the CRM automation, the design system — was built by one person. Me. With AI as my co-builder.

A year ago this wouldn’t have been possible. Today, with the careful and responsible use of AI, one person can ship something this substantial. Not because AI replaces expertise — I still needed 8+ years of national and organisational AI transformation work and decades of software engineering behind me — but because AI compresses the distance between knowing what to build and having it built.

That’s the real promise of AI Readiness. Not that AI does your work. That AI amplifies what you, specifically, are already capable of.

If you’re reading this wondering whether AI can help you build, launch, ship, or transform something — the answer is yes. Start with the assessment. Find out where you are. Then go build.

Why 87% of AI Projects Fail

The reasons rarely involve technology. Projects fail due to inadequate leadership support, insufficient AI literacy, poor data quality, cultural resistance to change, and missing governance frameworks.

After 9+ years helping 1,000+ organisations adopt AI through AI Singapore’s programmes — including 300+ hands-on AI projects — one pattern was clear: the organisations that succeed are the ones that invest in people readiness, not just technology.

From AI Singapore to the World

My team and I in AISingapore created the AI Readiness Index (AIRI) in 2019 while leading AI Singapore’s industry adoption programmes. What started as an internal tool for assessing organisations became the foundation of a global AI readiness assessment framework now used across multiple countries and organisations globally.

In 2026, the Personal AI Readiness Index (pAIRI) was added — bringing the same evidence-based methodology to individual professionals. Together, oAIRI and pAIRI form The AIRI Framework: a comprehensive system for measuring and developing AI readiness at every level.

aiready.sg is the platform that brings this framework to life — with assessments, personalised courses, and a community of professionals working toward the same goal: becoming AI Ready.

The Origin

The Question That Built This Platform

“Can you show me AI use cases for my industry?”

For nine years, the same question kept coming up — at SME roundtables, conference Q&As, WhatsApp groups, LinkedIn DMs:

Generic AI courses don’t answer that question. A marketing executive at a logistics company and an operations lead at a law firm don’t need the same AI training — even if they’re both at the same maturity level. The technology might be the same. The use cases are completely different.

That’s the gap aiready.sg was built to close. The AIRI Framework doesn’t just tell you what to learn — oAIRI and pAIRI together identify your industry, your role, and your current readiness, then couple AI fundamentals with the specific use cases that apply to the work you actually do.

No generic courses. No “AI Literacy” in the lowest-common-denominator sense. Learning that resonates — because it’s about your work, not someone else’s.

48 Lessons · 25 industries · 6 Functional roles · 5 Levels · 1 Course (AIRE)

> 6,450 tailored learning contexts

Every course module pulls use cases from the intersection of your industry and your functional tier. A healthcare finance director and a manufacturing operations lead see different examples — and reach the same destination.
